HAILEY, ID—Rocky Mountain Hardware, a company that specializes in hand-casting custom bronze architectural products, recently collaborated with Kravitz Design Inc., the New York-based firm headed by musician, actor and designer, Lenny Kravitz. The outcome of this relationship is Trousdale, a collection for doors and cabinetry.
According to Rocky Mountain Hardware, the line provides a mid-century modern aesthetic to their portfolio. The Trousdale collection is Kravitz Design’s first undertaking in the hardware category.
For Kravitz Design, inspiration was found in the architecture of the famed Trousdale Estates neighborhood in Beverly Hills, CA, an enclave of mid-century modern homes made famous by its celebrity residents in the 1960’s.
Trousdale features angular profiles and strong textures. The selection consists of seven lever, grip and knob designs with complementary escutcheons for door applications; four cabinet pulls and knobs; and five accessory pieces, including a doorknocker. Each is available in 10 finishes.
“Kravitz Design has brought a compelling, edgy and welcome new collection to [our] family of products,” said Christian Nickum, president of Rocky Mountain Hardware. “These additions broaden our range and give architects, designers and consumers a more diverse range of style choices.”
Commenting on the collaboration with Rocky Mountain Hardware, Kravitz said of the company, “They create hand crafted hardware pieces with time honored casting methods. I’m pleased to present Trousdale by Kravitz Design, a collection inspired by modern architecture, mid-century glamour and handcrafted quality.”
