AUSTIN, TX—Designed by Studio 11 Design, the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol has debuted its new outdoor space—the The BackYard at Waller Creek. The Dallas-based design firm recently completed the final stage of the property’s multi-phase renovation.
From the initial concept phase, Brand Society, Studio 11 Design’s in-house branding team, pulled inspiration from local colors, patterns and popular attractions to stamp the design of the interiors with consistent features. Brand Society used a holistic approach to the identity and design, impacting everything from the look of coffee cup sleeves and waitstaff uniforms, according to the company.
Equipped with hiking and bike trails and mixed with a lattice of bridges and parks, the Waller Creek development runs directly behind the hotel, making the BackYard a destination not just for business travelers and tourists, but for local and pedestrian traffic alike.
F&B options include a picnic basket complete with ingredients to make s’mores, which they can then bring outside to the BackYard’s fire pits facing Waller Creek. An outdoor food truck/bar provides snacks and drinks.
