SAN ANTONIO—The Sheraton Gunter Hotel, located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. The updates offer modernized facilities and decor, while still maintaining the historical integrity of the century old building, according to the hotel.
The hotel features 322 updated guestrooms and suites, complete with high ceilings, spacious workstations, LCD TVs and the signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed. It also includes more than 20,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space. Guests staying under Club Level have access to the Club Lounge 24-hours a day, including breakfast, evening hor d’oevures, wine and snacks.
Catering is provided by Chef Martinez, who heads the hotel’s new urban restaurant, Market on Houston, as well as the Gunter Barkery, the in-house dog café that benefits the San Antonio Humane Society with a portion of sales from dog bowties, T-shirts and jars of homemade dog biscuits. House-made cocktails and a selection of spirits are available at Bar 414, which pays homage to the history of the Gunter Hotel and blues master Robert Johnson, who recorded the majority of his music in room 414 of the Gunter in 1936.
