After five years of running DNA Strategic Consulting, Alexandra Polier is moving to the award-winning architecture firm ODA New York as the SVP of business development and communications. There she will lead an executive team, focused on global strategy and geographical expansion of the firm’s portfolio, which currently spans from Moscow and Chengdu to Mexico City and Los Angeles.
For the past year, DNA has represented ODA as a public relations firm, developing numerous profiles on the ODA leadership and new buildings, totaling more than 500 media placements. Together DNA and ODA launched more than a dozen new projects including POST Rotterdam, The Book Tower in Detroit, and 10 Jay in DUMBO which also hosted the book launch for Unboxing New York, published by Actar, to a crowd of hundreds. Founder Eran Chen headlined such design conferences as RAM (Rotterdam Architecture Month) as well as hosted intimate design talks with Piero Lissoni. Next year he will make appearances at the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Lifecycles conference in Belgium.
Polier is a media and communications expert with more than 20 years of experience. After graduating from Columbia Journalism School she spent a decade as a reporter before returning to New York in 2009 to work in design and architecture. Prior to opening DNA, Polier worked as the director of communications for both Richard Meier & Partners and Dwell Media. At DNA, Polier represented a variety of architecture, design and technology clients, including New York’s Lowline with RAAD Studio, Marvel Architects and Lighting Science among others. She is also a board member of Terreform ONE, a nonprofit architecture and urban design consulting group who aim to combat the extinction of all planetary species through pioneering acts of design.
