Kimpton Hotels to Expand With Project In Colorado’s Union Station

SAN FRANCISCO—Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will expand its Colorado footprint with the management of a ground-up construction, four-star hotel that is planned as part of the city’s historic Union Station currently undergoing a major revitalization and redevelopment effort.

Slated for a late 2015 opening and located in the up and coming “LoDo” (Lower Downtown) neighborhood adjacent to Denver’s iconic Union Station, the new 200-room hotel will be part of a larger mixed use redevelopment project that is currently underway by Continuum Partners in collaboration with East West Partners in the Union Station Neighborhood Company, the master developers of Union Station neighborhood, to revitalize and restore the historic area and central transit hub.

The new hotel will feature 8,300 square feet of meeting space, including outdoor patio and rooftop patio, a 2,000 square-foot fitness center and two local-inspired, chef-driven restaurants and bars. The new Union Station hotel marks Kimpton’s third property in Colorado, joining the Hotel Monaco Denver and the Sky Hotel in Aspen.

Colorado-based Semple Brown Design and BOKA Powell, out of Dallas, have been selected as the Design Architect and Architect of Record respectively of the new project.
