HBA Bolsters Team, Reveals New Projects

Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) began the year with multiple high-level promotions, new hires and the unveiling of a number of hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects slated to open this year. With more than 1,700 designers across 21 international offices, HBA’s scale and depth of experience will enable its designers to reach new heights through multifaceted design in 2020.

“HBA continues to lead the hospitality industry with celebrated projects and designers who propel our work to excellence,” said René Gross Kaerskov, co-CEO of HBA. “As the firm continues to expand worldwide, our designers are setting ambitious goals, cultivating innovative storyline-based design narratives and setting an impressive industry standard for the year ahead.”

Richard Tennill has been promoted from senior associate to partner at HBA’s Los Angeles office. With more than 25 years of experience in architecture and interior design, including 14 years with HBA, Tennill specializes in conceptualizing large-scale projects with meticulous attention to detail. An AIA-registered and licensed architect, notable projects within his portfolio include Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown, Marina Bay Sands Resort in Singapore, a mixed-use development in Flushing, NY, and more.

Christy Coleman brings 13 years of combined experience in architecture and hospitality design, along with her design philosophy rooted in creativity and innovation, to her new role as associate at HBA in Los Angeles. She joins HBA from Gulla Jonsdottir Architecture and Design.

Five additional designers have been promoted to Associate across HBA’s U.S. offices and subdivisions: Ashley Bright, HBA Los Angeles; Valeria Gidaszewski-Lassalle, HBA Los Angeles; Charlie Mendoza; HBA Atlanta; Michelle Tran, HBA San Francisco; and Sherry Kobashigawa, Studio HBA Los Angeles.

In 2020, the firm will reveal newly designed projects and renovations ranging from luxury hotels to newly constructed residential and mixed-use developments:
