The Courtyard by Marriott – Virginia Beach Oceanfront North has completed a renovation of the lobby, lounge, reception, bistro, conference room and guestrooms. The project was led by David Shove-Brown & David Tracz, principals at the design firm //3877.
Light blue hues and beachfront views work together to create the refreshed atmosphere at the property. The custom decor pulls inspiration from the hotel’s surroundings, overlooking the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean, incorporating bright colors, natural materials and nautical artwork into the contemporary design.
The firm’s principals infused organic details and materials to deliver a design that illustrates the character of its locale with the core elements of the Courtyard brand. Among the design elements are abstract murals painted on driftwood in the guestrooms; fishnet chandeliers in the bistro; metallic mirrors and decorative planters added to the reception area; gray wood shiplap paired with dark wood laminates and light tiling for an improved reception desk; and wave-like carpet tiling in the conference room with coordinating chairs.
