CONCEPT: The 38-room Delafield Hotel, which opened in March, projects an image of casual elegance and the desire of co-owners Andy Ruggeri and Bob Lang was to maintain that feeling with the guest bathrooms. The 11-year-old building in Delafield, WI, had been a warehouse prior to its redevelopment into a boutique hotel.
In the hotel’s guest bathrooms, the goal was to create “a luxury spa environment,” Ruggeri said. “We wanted to provide our business and leisure guests with a space that was enticing, comfortable and above all, relaxing.”
EXECUTION: To achieve the feel of a luxury spa, “we started with muted earth tone coloring for a backdrop to the Kohler Bubble Massage tub with chromatherapy,” Ruggeri said. “This soft mix of creams and browns maximizes the effect of the water color changes in the spa tub. The matching Kohler fixtures on both the custom-made granite vanity and the Kohler multi-jet shower tie the room together.”
Other signature elements of the guest bathrooms include mirrors that are “strategically placed to make the oversized rooms look even more spacious and beautiful paintings on the walls lend a feeling of warmth and tranquility,” Ruggeri added.
RESULT: The Delafield’s bathrooms have received rave reviews from guests, according to Ruggeri. “Without exception, every guest we have had has exclaimed over the luxurious spa bath in their room and a majority have taken advantage of our in-house spa services,” he said.
