CALIFORNIA LIVING

No. 850, a new hotel from famed hotelier and restaurateur Jeff Klein of JK Hotel Group, has debuted in the heart of West Hollywood.

The quaint, 23-room property is Klein’s interpretation of Europe’s chic, residential-style hotels, offering an escape for guests that seamlessly blends luxury and top-notch service with the comforts and simplicity of home.

Located along a residential stretch of West Hollywood’s San Vicente Blvd., No. 850 features a California-style bungalow facade, a welcoming lobby lounge, a communal living space, large rooftop terrace and modern kitchen, all within this 10,000-plus-sq.-ft. property.

Along with architect Marc Appleton and London-based interior designer Rita Konig, Klein restored the property and its interiors with a unique sensibility reminiscent of private homes. Interiors feature distinct layers of pastel colors and varied textures juxtaposed against artwork and eclectic decor accents.

Guestrooms offer sleek oak floors, cozy fireplaces, bespoke furnishings and marble sinks. Large, steel sash windows open the rooms to natural light and offer panoramic views of the city.

No. 850’s lobby lounge doubles as a bar. The intimate living area, situated on a floor above the lobby lounge, offers a fireplace, antique leather armchairs and vibrant fabrics. The residential-style communal kitchen, complete with a marble sub-zero refrigerator, provides complimentary breakfast to guests and will be home to several of Los Angeles’ highly acclaimed chefs.
