COZUMEL, MEXICO—Occidental Hotels & Resorts’ Allegro Cozumel resort officially reopened following significant renovations.
“Reopening in time for the 2014 holiday season is the perfect opportunity for returning and first-time guests to experience Allegro Cozumel’s new-and-improved lobby, restaurants, programing and more,” said Jaime Buxó, managing director of Occidental Hotels & Resorts. “This resort has always catered to an array of guests, from families to couples, and the rejuvenation of Allegro Cozumel’s facilities along with new programming will surely enhance the guest experience.”
The new design scheme celebrates the region, evoking a Yucatan hacienda with minimalistic yet distinct textures and colors, according to the company.
El Topaz, the buffet-style restaurant, features a brand new buffet, while El Oriental, the property’s à la carte Asian restaurant, has been completely redesigned with large teppanyaki tables and a self-service sushi bar to complement the restaurant’s diverse menu. The resort is also introducing a new à la carte restaurant, The Italian, which is open for dinner and captures the essence of an art gallery with decorative murals, curtains and mirrors displayed on the walls.
Sports fans on property can enjoy access to the resort’s first Sports Bar located near the main lobby and featuring a two-in-one concept, both an open lounge area with high-top tables and a section of private booths. Allegro Cozumel’s guests ages 13 to 17 years-old will delight in the new Teens Club, the watersports-themed room featuring game tables and consoles for various activities.
Among the new areas on property are also a spa and fitness center, tennis courts, theater and more. New and enhanced guest experiences include daily activities and programming by the pool and beach areas, non-motorized watersports and a complete PADI five-star dive center.
